The Educators Convergence

Background
The Educators Convergence (TEC) is an annual gathering of teachers, school leaders, and education innovators across Africa, designed to exchange ideas, celebrate progress, and ignite inspiration for the classrooms of tomorrow.
When TEC approached Jigsaw Reef, the goal was clear, create a modern, optimistic, and unifying identity that visually represents collaboration, knowledge exchange, and progress in education.

The Challenge
The existing visual expression lacked energy and cohesion. TEC needed a new identity that could:
• Appeal to both grassroots educators and institutional stakeholders.
• Be adaptable across print, digital, and event environments.
• Capture the optimism of education while maintaining professionalism.
Our challenge was to translate the spirit of learning and convergence into a simple, timeless mark.

The Idea
At the core of the new identity lies the concept of “Convergence Through Knowledge.”
The logo symbol, a three-point convergence mark, represents people, ideas, and purpose meeting at a central point of enlightenment. Its dynamic, almost arrow-like form reflects both forward motion and shared direction, a fitting metaphor for a gathering of minds shaping the future.
The typographic system reinforces this theme with modern, geometric letterforms that echo balance, rhythm, and structure, principles that define good education.

The Visual Language
Color Palette
• Radiant Yellow: optimism, inspiration, new beginnings.
• Deep Navy Blue: trust, authority, and depth of thought.
• Light Sky Blue: clarity, openness, and accessibility.
Together, these colors create a bright yet professional tone — approachable for educators, elevated for sponsors and partners.
Typography
A blend of geometric sans-serifs was selected for clarity and legibility. The letter spacing and precision strokes bring a sense of calm order and intelligence.
Iconography & Pattern
The brand pattern repeats the convergence symbol, forming a network motif, a nod to the interconnection of educators across regions.
Photography Style
Vibrant portraits of educators in action, often paired with fluid yellow lines, convey motion and human warmth, ensuring the brand always feels alive and people-driven.

Applications
The identity system extends seamlessly across mediums:
• Event Collateral: Stage banners, delegate badges, and signage.
• Digital Presence: Website hero banners, social content, and presentation slides.
• Merchandise: Coffee cups, notebooks, and tote bags featuring pattern variations.
• Speaker Features: Personalized nameplates and spotlight visuals that humanize the brand.

Outcome
The 2024 edition of The Educators Convergence launched with record participation, and the refreshed visual identity became a rallying symbol for education stakeholders nationwide.
More than just a logo, TEC now stands as a movement of connection, collaboration, and creativity in education, a visual ecosystem that celebrates both the individual educator and the collective mission to transform learning.
